History of Manipulation
Chiropractic is the leading holistic, drugless, natural healthcare profession in the world. Chiropractic includes manipulation of the spine, first noted in writings nearly 2500 years ago in the time of Hippocrates, and even earlier in ancient Chinese stone carvings. Chiropractic has become a recognized form of treatment throughout the world. Over the past 30 to 40 years, chiropractic and medical research has progressively validated the effectiveness of this practice, and even medical school students today are now being introduced to the art of manipulation. Modern informed Doctors of Chiropractic and Doctors of Medicine work together freely, referring patients to one another for the best blend of each profession’s specialties. Neither profession alone can provide every feature of good solid healthcare.
